I'm a huge fan of Goldie Hawn. I have watched Overboard twice since I received it. It's just as funny as I remembered it. I was so glad to see that Amazon.com had this DVD available for a great price. The process was easy from ordering to receipt. The price was competitive and the delivery was speedy. Real-life couple Kurt Russell and Goldie Hawn star in this enjoyable 1987 comedy by Garry Marshall (Pretty Woman) about an imperious heiress (Hawn) who loses her memory after a boating accident and is identified as the wife of a handyman (Russell). Russell's character brings her "home" to his messy house and unruly kids, and the laughs follow as the aristocratic Hawn tries fitting in. Marshall delivers the comic goods, the leads are entertaining (Russell needs to do more comedy), and the supporting cast is made up of happily familiar faces, including Roddy McDowall, Edward Herrmann, and Marshall favorite Hector Elizondo in an unbilled bit. --Tom Keogh

3/06: Overboard is a fairly average film while portraying egregious messages. The usual convention is that, in the end, Dean Proffitt, played by Kurt Russell, would have been arrested for kidnapping and other more serious offenses. So, I'll have to suspend my disbelief this time. The film is more of a drama than a comedy, and Overboard isn't too bad in its pacing as it flows nicely. There isn't anything wrong with acting, but there is a lot wrong with the poorly attempted gag jokes throughout the film. Cutting them out, Overboard would simply have been better. The movie wasn't that funny as I hoped it would be, but more or less, I enjoyed Overboard to a certain extent.

They just don't make 'em like this one anymore! I'm very glad that I was able to find it on DVD. There's a great moral to the story and lots of slapstick fun all along the way!

Well it has been two weeks past the delivery date and I am still waiting for my order to arrive. I guess if it doesn't come I am out .00 and that is a pretty inevpensive lesson to learn!
